Maground AI – 3D Camera Workflow

Updated over 2 weeks ago

1. Do I need my own car model to start?

No. Maground provides a set of demo cars you can use right away.
If you want to work with your own vehicle, we can train a custom LoRA model of your car. Once trained, you can generate scenes with your exact model in different locations and perspectives.

Select a car model and generate infinite images from a single location.

2. How do I position the car in the scene?

  • Simply click and drag with your mouse to move the car around the scene.

  • Hold down the Control key to move the virtual camera instead of the car.

  • This allows you to fine-tune the exact perspective, distance, focal and framing.

3. What additional settings are available?

  • Image ratio: Choose between different formats (e.g., 16:9, 4:3, 1:1) depending on your project needs.

  • Car color: Adjust the vehicle color directly inside the tool for different variations.

  • Influence image: Upload an image that influences the background’s mood, lighting, or environment. The AI adapts the real-world background to your chosen style or direction.

4. What happens after generation?

All results are saved in your History tab, where you can:

  • Remove the car with one click (useful for CGI workflows).

  • Generate a 360° HDR dome matched to your backplate.

  • Apply AI-Retouch tools (Nano Banana / Flux Context) for background edits or refinements.

  • Upscale images for high-resolution output.

  • Download the assets (backplate, HDR, and camera information).

To create a 360° HDR for the generated background, remove the car first, and then select Make HDR from the image option menu:

5. Do I get camera information for my renders?

Yes. Every generated backplate in the 3D workflow comes with exact camera settings (position, focal length, etc.), enabling you to align your CGI vehicle seamlessly inside your renderer.

6. What’s the difference between demo cars and trained LoRA cars?

  • Demo cars are provided by Maground for testing, exploring perspectives, and initial concepting - they are based on low-quality 3D models, just to help you alter the perspective for the background and pre-visualize the idea or concept

  • Trained LoRA cars are custom-built AI models of your own vehicle, allowing you to generate production-accurate visuals with the specific car you need.
